Though it is a fact that more than 75% of rehab programs fail to treat addicts but it does not mean that we must demoralize them. Choosing a correct rehab program is very important as cause of addiction in every individual is different. The main root cause of addiction and the present situation of the patient are the two main factors that must be considered seriously before joining any rehab program. Effective rehab programs fail only when the patient does not cooperate with the doctor. Lack of interest and motivation often lead to discontinuation of the treatment program which can worsen the condition of the patient.

Studies show that most often heroin addiction starts with a single dose with friends out of sheer curiosity and thrill.
